Tanzania's ruling party is counting on voter support

The ruling Revolutionary Party of Tanzania (SSM) presented statistics on the second stage of the election campaign of the current president of the country, John Magufuli. It is reported by Deutsche Welle Swahili. JMA Secretary for Ideological Affairs Hamprey Polepole stressed that according to preliminary estimates, the ruling party of Tanzania expects to receive good voter support in the general elections to be held on October 28, 2020. Answering questions from opposition parties, Polepole noted that many of the data on the activities of the JMA that the opposition has do not correspond to reality. So, he said that the opposition presidential candidate Tundu Lissu released false information about the activities of the JMA. Meanwhile, during the election campaigns, experts noted tough competition among candidates. Lissou, a candidate of the Party for Democracy and Progress (CHADEMA), said that the JMA government had failed to resolve the difficulties faced by citizens. For his part, if elected to the presidency, he promised to increase the salaries of government employees and review the tax system. Experts are confident that the main rivals in the upcoming elections will be the JSM and CHADEMA, whose election rallies gather the most participants.
