The Ministry of Health of Ukraine explained why New Sanzhara was chosen for quarantine

Novaya Sanjara sanatorium was chosen to house evacuees from China for quarantine, as it is subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior and not loaded, Deputy Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko said today, February 21. The issue was discussed at the emergency session of the Poltava Regional Council. The official recalled that the place for monitoring healthy people does not have to meet the requirements of infectious hospitals. To stop the functioning of medical institutions to accommodate healthy people there without symptoms, Ukraine was not ready. All such institutions are fully involved, and doctors work in the regular mode, Lyashko said. The representative of the Ministry of Health stated that a large enough number of institutions could be used in this case had been reviewed. He stressed that the authorities assessed a large number of indicators and indicators. The news agency recalls that according to unofficial information, sanatoriums in Lviv, Ternopil and Kiev regions were considered as other options for the accommodation of evacuees from China. Protests against the quarantine of people took place in these regions.
