In Japan, the number of cases of COVID-19 exceeded 30 thousand

In the Japanese capital of Tokyo, 295 cases of infection with a new type of coronavirus were identified over the past day, Kyodo reported. In total, about 790 infected with a new coronavirus were identified in Japan. Thus, the total number of confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Japanese territory exceeded 30 thousand and reached 30 460. This statistic also includes those infected from the Diamond Princess cruise ship. The agency notes that the number of infections increased by 10 thousand in three weeks. Also over the past day, the number of victims of COVID-19 complications in the country reached 1009 people. According to the news agency, on July 25, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe refused to introduce a state of emergency in the country amid a sharp increase in the number of people infected with a new type of coronavirus. The head of the Japanese government called the situation tense, but noted that the state of emergency is not yet necessary to introduce.
