China extends yellow weather hazard due to showers

China extended the yellow level of weather danger for another day due to heavy rains in the vast territory of the country, Xinhua News Agency reported on June 28. From the morning of June 28 to the morning of June 29, heavy showers and hurricanes are expected in the provinces of Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and Shanghai, the National Meteorological Center of China said. In some regions, precipitation of up to 70 mm per hour with strong winds is possible. In some areas of Anhui and Jiangsu provinces, showers of up to 200 mm of precipitation per day are expected. The center recommended that local authorities prepare for possible floods and geological disasters. Since the beginning of June, heavy showers have not stopped in vast areas of China. In the south of the country, many rivers broke out due to rains, causing floods.
