Perpetrators of the fire in the Chernobyl zone will be punished - Zelenskiy

The people responsible for the fire in the Chernobyl exclusion zone will be severely punished, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said in a video message on April 14. Persons who caused the fire have already been detained and they will bear strict responsibility, he stressed. Zelensky thanked 1.5 thousand firefighters who put out a large-scale fire in the exclusion zone. All days they risk their lives because of the mindless actions of individuals. I very much want to see tired faces of firefighters, their bloodied burned hands, the President of Ukraine noted. He said that the Verkhovna Rada tightened the responsibility for burning grass. According to the news agency, earlier the Parliament of Ukraine almost 20 times increased fines for burning dry grass.
