In China, smartphone shipments for March collapsed by almost a quarter

Mobile phone shipments in China reached 21.76 million units in March of this year, which is 23.3% less year-on-year, the Chinese Academy of Information Technology and Communications (CAICT) reported on April 18. Just 31 new phone models were released in China over the past month, which is 25% less than a year earlier, the research institute under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC reported.
