In South Ossetia, fires are extinguished 24 hours a day due to the fall of grass by residents - Ministry of Emergency Situations


Firefighters in South Ossetia have to fight fire 24 hours a day because many residents of the country burn dry grass. On March 10 the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic reports about it. According to the department, even despite constant warnings from the fire service, residents continue to fall grass, and then cannot cope with the fire on their own, and the flame shifts to buildings or forest areas. Over the past 24 hours, fire calculations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations 12 South Ossetia have extinguished several fires, and in each case the flame has covered large areas, as well as forest areas, the press service said. It is noted that there are situations when fire equipment cannot reach the place of fire and fire has to be fought manually by hand. The Ministry of Emergency Situations warned that for the deliberate burning of herbs the perpetrators will be brought to administrative responsibility. It is worth noting that a similar situation with fires is observed in Abkhazia. There also fire services are forced to fight fire due to burning grass.
