Finnish military will not take part in exercises in Norway due to coronavirus
The Finnish military refused to take part in Cold Response 2020 exercises that NATO will hold in Norway from 9 to 19 March. This is stated in the report of the Finnish Defense Forces. The participation of the ground forces (Finland) in the exercises has been cancelled, the statement published on the website of the military department reads. This decision was made due to the latest data obtained on the coronavirus situation. The exercise of NATO member states, which is to be attended by 16,000 military personnel, will begin on March 9. The Finnish side was to be represented by 400 military personnel. According to the news agency, on March 7 in Norway the number of detected cases of coronavirus infection of COVID-2019 was 136.
